Educational Scholarships
High school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are
customer-members of PGEC are eligible to apply for college
scholarships awarded by the
Virginia,
Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric
Cooperatives (VMDAEC) Educational Scholarship
Foundation.
Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a competitive
screening process. Applicants must be entering college as
a freshman. Additional requirements can be found on the
application instructions page. The scholarship funds are
sent directly to the educational institution and placed
in the student's account. These can be used to pay for
tuition, fees, books and room and board.
The deadline to apply for a 2010 VMDAEC Educational
Foundation Scholarship is April 1, 2010. An application

In 2009, the VMDAEC Educational Foundation awarded 48
scholarships totaling $43,000 to deserving students.
Since its inception in 2000, 262 students from throughout
Virginia, Maryland and Delaware have received VMDAEC
scholarships totaling $171,500. The number of scholarships
awarded each year is based on the funds available.
