A nonprofit foundation that assists families facing pediatric cancer got a heartfelt charitable boost this month from employees at Community Electric Cooperative (CEC) and Prince George Electric Cooperative (PGEC). Sixteen volunteers (eight from each co-op) spent a Thursday morning conducting a “Ready Bag Packing Party” to support families whose children are afflicted with cancer.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Prince George Electric Cooperative donated more than $500 to Wakefield’s House of Hope Food Pantry to help better serve the needs of their local community.

The upcoming holiday season is a time where many are traveling to visit family or shop. This holiday season, Prince George Electric Cooperative wants to encourage members to allow the SmartHub app to help them manage their account no matter where they are.

Most of us have heard of “No-Shave November” but this November, your electric cooperative is rewarding members for participating in “No-paper November”.  Prince George Electric Cooperative’s campaign encourages members to go paperless in an effort to save them time and money in receiving information about their bill.

Prince George Electric Cooperative recently held a blood drive at its headquarter office, inviting employees and community members to participate. The successful event collected 17 units which equates to 51 lives being saved.

It’s been eight years since member Cathy O’Donnell began her mission of decluttering her home with Prince George Electric Cooperative’s paperless billing.

One of the many ways Prince George Electric Cooperative gives back to the community is through its employee volunteer program.  Annually, PGEC partners with the Adopt-A-Highway Program to collect trash along George Town, Spring Hill, Shingleton, Beaver Dam and parts of Walnut Hill Road.

Did you know that for every 1,000 members who sign up for paperless billing, over 12,000 envelopes, 24,000 sheets of paper, and $5,000 in postage are saved each year?

Instead of having to remember to mail a payment each month, more than 2,900 members are relaxing and letting Prince George Electric Cooperative’s autopay feature take care of things.

When Mary Ann Hallman, wife of member Robert Hallman, saw that her credit card was about to expire, she knew that she wanted a different way to pay her electric bill.
For many, credit and debit cards are a convenient way to purchase items on the go.  For the Hallman’s, that included their electric bill up until they switched to bank draft.

There seems to be an app for just about everything these days.  You can track everything from calories to daily steps and even how to reduce your mobile device screen time.   Wouldn’t it be convenient if there was a mobile app that kept up with everything about your electric account? Well, there is!

It’s football season and while the NFL Draft took place earlier this year, Prince George Electric Cooperative is encouraging members to join the draft that could win them $25 – bank draft.
