2020 Washington Youth Tour

Look for application and trip information for the 2020 Washington D. C. Youth Tour in an upcoming Cooperative Living later this fall. Four high school or home schooled juniors will be selected to attend a week long, all-expense paid trip to visit museums, meet with elected officials and participate in other special events!   


New meter installation – Spring Grove Substation

In our continuing effort of developing the most modern infrastructure to better serve our members, Prince George Electric Cooperative will be installing new electric meters in the area served by the Spring Grove substation over the next few weeks. This work will begin the week of September 11. This area includes Swanns Point Rd., Cabin Point Rd., James River Dr., Laurel Springs Rd., Salisbury Rd., Martin Luther King Dr., Oak Hill Rd., Huntington Rd., Lebanon Rd., Ellis Rd., Sunken Meadow Rd., and Beaverdam Rd.

Fiber to the Home Update

PGEC Enterprises, LLC, has moved past the pilot phase of bringing Fiber to the Home and has initial plans for the next fiber connections.  Direct communications from PGEC Enterprises, LLC, have been sent to members letting them know that internet services are available in their area.

PGEC Enterprises, LLC, has also launched a web site at   Members are encouraged to check the site for further project updates.

2017 Annual Members' Meeting

The Annual Members' Meeting will be held on Monday, August 28, at Waverly Headquarters (7103 General Mahone Hwy.).  Waverly and Prince George offices will close at noon that day.  Member registration and dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m.  The business meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Plan to come, visit exhibits, see what is new with your cooperative and what was accomplished in 2016!  

Contractors Conducting Pole Inspections

Utilities conduct pole inspections to check for any issues that may affect the integrity of the pole. PGEC has contracted with Southside Utility Maintenance (SUM) for this purpose. SUM will be working out of the Beechland substation area in Surry County for the next 3 weeks. This area includes Runnymeade, Hollybush, and White Marsh Roads. One team will be working the area driving a gray Chevrolet pick-up truck with PGEC signage on the side. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 804-834-2424.

ODEC President and CEO Announces Retirement

Glen Allen, VA -- Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) today announced that Jackson E. Reasor, the longest serving president and chief executive officer (CEO) in ODEC’s history, has informed the board of directors of his plan to retire as president and CEO effective as of January 15, 2018.

The Board has formed a search committee to identify a new president and CEO, and will retain a nationally recognized executive recruiting firm to advise them on potential candidates.
