All switching operations in Prince George County have been completed and power should be restored to all who were affected by today's Brickhouse substation work. If you are still without power, or lose power at some later point, please call 804-834-2424 to report your outage. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during this complex operation.

Planned Outage

Residents of Prince George County who would be affected by a planned substation switching operation were notified by letter on or about July 5th. This operation may cause a brief power interruption. As of today, that operation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th. We do not have a time until closer to the operation, but updates will be provided on this site as well as recorded information at 804-834-2424.

Sales Tax Holiday

Shop May 25th - May 31st for items needed to prepare for storms and hurricanes and skip the sales tax! Items such as artificial ice or ice packs, cell phone batteries, fire extinguishers, gas containers, tarps or plastic sheeting, and batteries (excluding boat and auto) are some of the items you may purchase without paying sales tax.

Stop Check Payment Fee

Effective June 1, 2012, there will be a $32.00 charge if a customer requests that PGEC stop payment on a check previously issued to that customer. The fee will be deducted from the amount of the check to be reissued. If the check void date has passed, there will be no charge to reissue the check.

PGEC Returns Capital Credit to Cooperative Members The Cooperative’s Board of Directors approved the refund of capital credit allocations to Cooperative members who received electric service in 1990 and 2010 with refunds totaling over $1.4 million.

Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Score Above the Rest

On May 11, the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) announced, “Energy utilities face serious challenges as customer satisfaction drops 3.2 percent.”

With an ACSI score of 71.9 on a scale of 0 to 100, the energy utilities sector dropped again for the third straight year. On a positive note that speaks to the cooperative difference and value of membership, Touchstone Energy Cooperatives remain the highest rated utility group.
