PGEC is excited to announce its Online Marketplace Program!

When it comes to managing energy costs at home, small decisions can make a meaningful difference. From how efficiently your home is heated and cooled to the lighting you choose and the way electronics are powered, everyday choices all play a role in how much energy your household uses.

As a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative, our role goes beyond delivering reliable electricity. With your needs at the heart of our cooperative mission, we are committed to helping members use energy wisely and affordably. That’s why we’re introducing a new Electric Cooperative Marketplace—an online, member-only resource designed to make energy-saving products easier to access at lower-than-retail prices.
This program provides a marketplace where members (homes and businesses) can shop for discounted energy efficient products like smart thermostats, LED lighting, smart power strips, and more which will help lower energy bills and use less energy.

The goal of the Program is to provide meaningful and cost-effective energy efficiency products to members by offering discounted products.
FAQs
Q: This sounds great. How do I know if I’m eligible?

First, you must be a member-consumer in one of ODEC’s 11 electric cooperatives (A&N, BARC, Choptank, Community, Delaware, Mecklenburg, Northern Neck, Prince George, Rappahannock, Shenandoah Valley, or Southside) with an active electric account.

Log into the marketplace by entering your electric cooperative account number and service location zip code to confirm eligibility of the available products at a discounted price. You will be able to complete the purchase on the site. No sign-up process is required.
Q: How do I shop on the online marketplace

Q: I’m having difficulty logging in.

Sorry to hear this. First question, is the account number being entered new, within the last 30-days? We securely update eligible account numbers on a monthly basis, so if it is a new account number, please try back in a few days, week, next month to see if it works then.

Q: What kind of items do you have at the online marketplace?
​A variety of products that will help you save energy such as: smart thermostats, plugs and smart strips, LED lighting, low flow water devices, EV chargers, air purifiers and more. We will add products over time.
Q: How much does the marketplace program cost?
​This program is available at no additional cost to cooperative members. The discount is provided as a benefit and value of being a member of the cooperative.
Q: What kind of discount will I see?
​Discounts range by each product. For example: $50-100 off a smart thermostat; $100 off an EV charger; $2-5 off LED lights; $20-25 off ENERGY STAR air purifiers.
Q: Is there a shipping cost?
​Shipping costs are covered for order greater than $50. For orders less than $50, a $12.00 shipping charge applies.
Q: How many products can be purchased at a discounted price?
There are purchase limits that vary by product. If a shopper has already hit their limit on the amount that may be purchased at a discounted prices, then the discount will no longer be available on future products. The quantity of discounted items will appear in the shopping cart and those where the discount does not apply will indicate full MSRP.

The purchase limits are generous, for example 3 thermostats, 26 LED lights, 5 smart power strips.
Q: How do I know if a smart thermostat will work with my heating and cooling system?
ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostats are compatible with most heating and cooling systems. You may follow the steps outlined by ENERGY STAR® at How to Choose a Smart Thermostat | ENERGY STAR® to check or review the thermostat manufacturer’s website regarding details on system compatibility.
Q: What will the credit card charge appear as?
Credit card charges will appear on your statement as “TechniArt”. TechniArt, a Resource Innovations company, is the third party partner authorized to administer this Marketplace.
Q: How do I know if my order is confirmed?
Orders are confirmed within the shopping experience, displaying an order number.

An email will also be sent from Sales <support@myco-opmarketplace.com> confirming the order information.
Q: My Shipping Address isn’t working?
Discounted Marketplace purchases must be shipped to an address within our service territory. Because the discounts are funded as part of our cooperative’s member programs, they’re intended to support energy savings for homes and businesses we serve.
Limiting shipping to addresses within the service territory helps us ensure the products we’re helping to discount are being used by cooperative members and contributing to energy savings locally. This also allows us to measure and model the impact of the program so we can continue offering similar benefits in the future.
We understand this may not fit every situation, but this approach helps us keep the Marketplace fair and focused on delivering value to the membership as a whole. If you’re able to ship to a service territory address, you’re welcome to take advantage of the available discounts.
