In the spirit of the season, Prince George Electric Cooperative employees delivered holiday gifts to the Sussex County Department of Social Services as part of its annual Angel Tree initiative. The donation will help brighten the holidays for local children and families in need, ensuring they experience joy, comfort, and a little extra cheer this Christmas.
This year’s contribution continues a tradition the cooperative proudly upholds. For several years, the cooperative has supported the Angel Tree program—selecting wish lists, shopping for gifts, and delivering the items directly to DSS. What began as a simple gesture has grown into a cherished annual event that reflects the cooperative’s shared values and commitment to the community it serves.
“Concern for Community is one of our core cooperative principles, and it guides everything we do—not just during the holidays, but throughout the entire year,” said Jill McKenzie, the co-op’s manager of HR and communications. “We look forward to this initiative, and we’re proud to play a small part in making the season brighter for local families.”
The cooperative extends its gratitude to DSS for organizing the Angel Tree program and for its continued dedication to supporting residents in need.
