A nonprofit foundation that assists families facing pediatric cancer got a heartfelt charitable boost this month from employees at Community Electric Cooperative (CEC) and Prince George Electric Cooperative (PGEC). Sixteen volunteers (eight from each co-op) spent a Thursday morning conducting a “Ready Bag Packing Party” to support families whose children are afflicted with cancer.

WAVERLY, Va – Three directors from Prince George Electric Cooperative recently received the Credentialed Cooperative Director, Director Gold Credentials, and Board Leadership certificates from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Members are making more room for centerpieces and tabletop decor thanks to the reduction in paper mail sitting on their countertops. Your electric cooperative encourages members to consider going paperless for their monthly bill statements because there are better things to put on your counters.

Their passion and dedication often inspire students to discover new things and pursue their dreams. On Teacher Appreciation Day, Prince George Electric Cooperative encourages us to reflect on the positive impact teachers have had on our lives that extends far beyond the classroom and participate in its Round Up for Education Program.

Each year, the Education Scholarship Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education. These scholarships are awarded by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives Education Scholarship Foundation and can be applied towards the applicant’s tuition, student fees, room and board, or textbooks.
